Phil and Teds Sport Reviews

What other Parents are saying about the Phil and Teds Buggy

Still undecided if the Phil and Teds Sport buggy is the right choice for you? Find out what other parents/buyers thought about the new Phil and Teds buggy below:

'The core advantage of the Sport is that it is a single buggy that transforms (with the optional accessory) into a double buggy for your two children without you having to push around something that is larger than a double-decker bus'.

'Easy to push, great colours, easy to put up and down, fits into the smallest car I had a rover 25 and still had room. Great raincover and sunshade. very roomy. turns heads!
I just LOVE Phil and Teds Sport 3 Wheeler Twin pushchair I have had mine 3 years and as a childminder I have it up and down and use it for about 1-2 hours each day! The tyres are really strong and I have only had to pump them up a handful of time in the 3 years I've had it. I tell everyone how great this pushchair is!'

'Personally wouldn't know what to do without this pushchair even with all the bad points ive written its still one of the best pushchairs ive had (which is alot) as i have a one year old, three year old and a six year old so always out and about collecting from school and nursery i also have the added problem of my three year old not wanting to walk very far and is usually very tiered after nursery. Ive found the easiest way of using the phil and ted sport is to put my one year old in the front and my three year old in the back i know that phil and teds would not recomend you to do this its just easier for me as im finding getting my rather large one year old in and out the back seat harder and harder and my three year old can get himself in and out of it, also now my three year old is going to nursery it means my one year old remains undististurbed in the front seat while my three year old can hop in and out when going to nursery or is walking and gets tiered. Excellent pushchair and very robust, i push it to its max and beyond prob and its still going strong after 7 months of wear and tear and abuse lol'.

'I would strongly recommend the Phil and Teds Sport pushchair if you are thinking of having a small age gap, would have bought it first as can be a single pushchair as well as a double. It is lightweight to push and folds to a nice compact size. The wheels come off with ease, handy if they get muddy and you need to clean them. My 2 year old sits with comfort and seat has recline if she wants a nap. For the baby was really good when lying down as pushchair rocked him to sleep and also with the doubles chair on top it kept him warm'.

Straight after having my second i went searching for the perfect double buggy. What i wanted was the nipper 360 but when i went to see it, the lady (selling on ebay) told me that the Phil & Ted Sport would be better for me as my baby was 8 weeks old and my 2 year old couldn't decide weather he wanted to walk or go in a pushchair. So she sent me away with something that i thought would be the worst purchase ever. OH WAS I WRONG!! It's so easy to put down and and back up even my husband can do it. The weight isn't too bad but how often to really need to carry it, thats why it's called a PUSHchair. If the 2 year old wants to walk i'm not left pushing a visable empty seat which i think looks quite strange and the seat when it is empty i use as a bag loading space. It's perfect for dog walking, in and around shops, family day trips and it doesn't take up that much room in the boot. I'm trying to sell my current model and looking to upgrade to a brand new sport, it know it will be money well spent. A+++++++++++++++++ '.

I spent almost my entire 2nd pregnancy researching double buggies, and decided the Phil and Teds Sport 3 Wheeler Twin was the best for me, s it is small enough to fit through my front door and get on buses, and light enough for me to actually push (some doubles are SO heavy!!). I have not regretted buying it once, and my 2nd is now 8 months old. There is a tricky stage where the reclining section that the newborn is meant to lie in gets too small, but they are not meant to sit in the seat but I decided that the seat was similar in recline to a car seat and used it from 4 months without problem. The basket is actually quite good, although I guess when baby 2 gets longer his feet will go in there, but at 8 months this is still not yet a problem.

I can get this pushchair on buses, through doors and up stairs etc., so it is good for a double. Breaks are great, raincover OK - chance of leaks on back seat. The recline of the seats isn't great. The back seat "reclines" by about an inch - I permanently have it in the recline position to allow more space between the 2 seats. The top seat can be slightly reclined whilst the child is in it, but is almost impossible to put back up (they have both napped in it, so not too bad). All in all I highly recommend it.'

I was very disappointed when I purchased Phil & Teds Sport 3 Wheeler Twin thinking how wonderful it was not being told the new one was to come out the next month! The store owner wasn't notified so in turn neither was I. Really would have liked the current model since I have four children, two of them under 3 yrs. I won't be buying another.

Having had 3 pushchairs prior to the Phil & Teds Sport 3 Wheeler Twin, I was very reluctant to shell out again. However, we really needed a double / tandem due to my wife not driving. Apart from all the admiring glances from those that know what a P&T is, and having to explain occasionally that the baby is actually hidden in the back, this pushchair is by far the best I have tried / owned. The only thing I can think to mention is that there may be a short space of time (maybe 3 months or so) that it might not be suitable for families with kids of certain ages. If you have two kids, one VERY young and the other a baby - it's fine. However, when the baby wants to sit up, you will be forced to move the young child into the lower seat position, whilst the baby sits up front. Some folk just feel that this is a little too low to the ground for such a young child, but it's only for a couple of months.

I bought the new 2007 sport model main unit, the double kit, the double rain cover, pannier bags and cocoon (it's a soft carry cot) for £410 - that's about £90 cheaper than a leading baby retailer that starts with M... and ends in ..care. So shop around. Do your homework, and enjoy this pushchair.

One final thing... They have made 30 odd revisions for the 2007 sport model - every one of them a benefit of the old E3, so don't be put off by old reviews.
